Get in Touch

This is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency or court that holds the record for those answers.

Official Orleans County Contacts

Use the office that matches the record. The county does not publish a live public jail roster or booking-photo viewer, so a direct records route is important for a specific request.

County FOIL Requests

Use the Orleans County FOIL form and submit the completed request to Foil_Requests@orleanscountyny.gov. Identify the office, person, date range, and records sought as precisely as possible.

The Sheriff dispatch center is available at (585) 589-5527 for the official active-warrants list and public-safety reporting, but the county states that dispatchers do not provide arrest information. Emergencies should be reported to 911. The Sheriff confidential tip line is (585) 283-4960 and sherifftips@orleanscountyny.gov.

Choosing the Right Record Path

Different agencies retain different files. The following routes help separate county booking material from the record that created it or resolved it.

  • For a county booking record or photograph, use the county FOIL route and name the Orleans County Jail or Sheriff’s Office as the custodian.
  • For an Albion, Holley, or Medina incident report, contact the relevant village police department or its records custodian.
  • For a final case result, request a Certificate of Disposition from the court of original jurisdiction.
  • For state-prison custody, use the DOCCS incarcerated-individual locator, which is not a county booking search.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP locator or ICE detainee locator as appropriate.

The Orleans County record-access page explains these custody boundaries and the New York FOIL process. A booking charge is an allegation, and the court disposition is the place to confirm what happened to the case.
